Welcome to the Town of Menomonie. Menomonie is a town in Dunn County, Wisconsin, United States. Population of 3561 according to the 2020 Census. The township surrounds the City of Menomonie and includes the village of Irvington.

Temporary Road Weight Restrictions

The Town of Menomonie is implementing temporary weight restrictions on all town roads. When the signs are up, that road is closed to any vehicle exceeding 12000 pounds (6 Tons) on any one axle and 20000 pounds (10 Tons) on any two axles under 8 feet apart. The restrictions will be effective on Monday March 3, 2025, until further notice. Questions should be addressed to Kent Jackson, Chairperson, 715-232-8083.

The Town of Menomonie is required by state statute to update its Comprehensive Plan in 2025

RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PUBLIC

RESOLUTION 2025-01

PARTICIPATION PROCEDURES FOR COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT

WHEREAS, the Town of Menomonie has decided to update its comprehensive plan under the authority of Sec. 66.1001 Wis. Stats; and

WHEREAS, Sec. 66.1001, Wis. Stats, requires that the governing body of the local governmental unit adopt written procedures designed to foster public participation at every stage of comprehensive plan preparation, and that such written procedures shall provide for wide distribution of draft plan materials, an opportunity for the public to submit written and oral comments on the plan materials, and a process for the governing body to respond to such comments; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Menomonie believes that regular, meaningful public involvement in the comprehensive plan update process is important to ensure that the resulting plan meets the wishes and expectations of the public; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Menomonie hereby adopts the written procedures included in the Public Participation Plan meeting the requirements of Sec. 66.1001, Wis. Stats.  A copy of said procedure is attached as Exhibit A.

Resolution No: 2025-02

Resolution Authorizing Tainter Lake Rehabilitation District Authority to Enact and Enforce Slow No Wake Ordinance

Whereas, Section 30.77(3) (am)(1)(a) of Wisconsin Statutes authorizes the Town to adopt a resolution authorizing the Lake District to enact and enforce ordinances; and

Whereas, the Tainter Lake Rehabilitation District was formed in 2022; and

Whereas, the Town of Menomonie repealed the Joint Slow No Wake Ordinance of 2007; and

Whereas, The Tainter Lake Rehabilitation District plans to enact and adopt a Slow No Wake Ordinance.

Now, Therefore, at the regular town meeting of the Town of Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin, by roll call vote of the Town Board of Supervisors on this 13^th day of March 2025 duly assembled and voting resolves and order as follows:

Be It Resolved, the Town Board of the Town of Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin hereby adopts Resolution 2025-02 authorizing the Tainter Lake Rehabilitation District authority to enact and enforce a slow no wake ordinance.

The town clerk shall properly post this resolution as required under s. 60.80, Wis. Stats.
